The city is being defaced by accommodation advertisements pasted everywhere. This practice is difficult to control unless a centralised, cheap and organised medium of advertising is provided to the general public. The bare walls of the pedestrian tunnels can be converted into one such medium via digital bulletin boards, which are protected by a security glass. Municipality authorised sections could be earmarked for either side of the creek and standard forms made available by the security officers, with perhaps a nominal charge of Dh1 per post. To prevent over-cluttering, the adverts displayed for over 30 days should be removed.
